KOSÉ is a familiar brand to me as I have used their products before. (read previous blog post : here) This time, they have combined all their 5 star products into one! It's really convenient for travellers as the sizes are all travel-friendly, and it is a great option for new users to try out too before deciding on purchasing the full sized products.

These products consists of a trio of oriental plant extracts, which are: Coix Seed (Chinese Pearl Barley), Melothria (White Lotus), and Angelica. And their function is to keep your skin in perfect condition, protected from the harsh environment.

Here's how I managed to build a Skincare Routine with the 5 products :D

In attempt to look like Setsuko (the Japanese character on the trial kit), I have done my hair up in a bun as well :P

Step 1: SEKKISEI White Liquid Wash (20ml)
Full size ; 140ml ; RM131.40

Function: Provide healthy skin and retain moisture

Pump the amount you need (usually around 2-3 pumps is sufficient), add some water, and gently massage it on your face. After that, wash your face thoroughly with water.

It is non-sticky and not too foamy. It does dissolve quite quickly too. But even so, it does make your face feel squeeky clean after!

Step 2:  SEKKISEI Clear Whitening Mask (10g)
Full size ; 80g ; RM94.30

Function: peels off blackheads, dead skin cells, and whitens pores
Honestly got a shock when I opened it, didn't expect it to be black in colour! haha. Spread it across your face and wait for it to dry (about 10-15 mins). Then, peel it off starting from the inwards to outwards of the face.

TIP: Avoid your eyebrows, lips, eyes and hairline! Trust me. Lol. As you can see from the pic above, I got some on my eyebrows, but don't worry, and DON'T try to peel it off. Just wash that area with water and it will dissolve.

It is slightly painful when peeling it off the face, but that's what you gotta endure to get those stubborn black heads out eh? You can also just mainly focus on the T-zone area instead of the whole face as well.

Step 3: SEKKISEI Lotion (100ml)
Full size ; 200ml ; RM180.20  /  360ml ; RM275.60

Function: Enhance skin clarity & translucency

There are 2 ways of using this! You can apply it like your normal toner, or you can do a mask from it.

For normal way of using it, just pour the lotion on a piece of cotton pad and dab it on your face.

Another way is to pour the lotion into the cap until it reaches the line, then drop a Bihadagoyomi Mask in it. Wait for it to absorb all the lotion before taking it out. Spread it open and ta-daa! Mask time!

If you feel that your mask isn't 'wet' enough, you can always just add on the lotion on the mask.

P.S: This lotion is their best-seller!

Final Step: SEKKISEI Emulsion (70ml)
Full size ; 140ml ; RM191.80

Function: Retain moisture for supple and soft skin

Pump the amount you need on your skin (2-3 pumps is sufficient) and gently apply it all over your skin. Again, this is very light-weight and doesn't feel sticky at all which is what I like!

After using it for 2 weeks plus, I must say my skin feels softer and it gives off a slight glow! My complexion has also became brighter than before :D

The KOSÉ SEKKISEI Trial Kit is retailing at RM99 only! You can purchase them at all of their outlets nationwide!

The Fat Bee @ Melaka

I've been to The Fat Bee. Yes, the name is legit. No, I do not know why they named it so.

Honestly I have been to numerous cafes, but not one has given me the urge to wanna revisit or feel like I want to strongly recommend to others. Not until I came to this place.

A few reasons why I strongly recommend The Fat Bee.

Reason #1: The environment.

(Due to sheer excitement, I have forgotten to take a picture of this area which I sat at. Thank you Jasmine for allowing me to use your beautiful pic!)

Can we all just stop and admire how gorgeous this cafe is?!

The glass house concept of this cafe just makes it stand out from the typical cafe environment.

It feels like you're on a vacation at a summer house somewhere overseas. +1 point

Also, the music that they play there is like some French music. Very soothing and relaxing. +1 point

And because it is somewhat a glasshouse, it has great lighting for photos (let's not pretend this is not something that we all prioritize whenever we go to cafes). +10 points

#Reason 2: The Food

We all know that most cafes are somewhat mediocre when it comes to food, so I didn't have much expectations for the food here. But...it is quite good!

We had Pizza and Pasta!

Soft Shell Crabs and Leek Pasta - RM23
Rate: 9/10

This pasta is so yummy! Very highly recommend this dish! Especially if you love or have never tried soft shell crabs. The flavour is amazing and honestly hoped that we ordered another one of this.

Duck and Apple Pizza - RM25
Rate: 6.5/10

Couldn't taste the apple but there definitely was duck in the pizza. This was okay-ish. But props to them for the thin crust! I always prefer pizzas with thin crust.

If you're familiar with a cafe called Backlane Coffee (situated at Jonker Walk), this is their other branch, so they have desserts too!

Personally I do not really recommend their drinks. We had their Iced Latte and The Fat Bee's Favourite Pressed Juice. The juice was too sour and the latte was average. Both priced at slightly above RM10.

And I was slightly put off by them charging RM1.50 for a cup of water (it wasn't really a big cup too). Guess I'm just used to most cafes serving water for free.

But putting that aside, it is a very relaxing and nice place to chill with your friends and loved ones, or even if you're alone (just bring a book or a laptop!). The interior design of the place wins it all. I mean, just look at that vintage wall!

Plus points to them for having plenty of seating options. You can come in a big group, small group or even alone. They cater for everyone!

Also, don't worry if you won't be able to dine if you choose to sit at their comfortable couches. They use a higher table rather than a normal coffee table. Very very wise choice. +20 points.

OOTD: Grey bodycon dress from H&M  l  Watch from Polo  l  Shoes from Skechers

Would definitely want to go back there again. I'm pretty sure it'd be gorgeous during night time too! But if it's your first time there, I would suggest you to go during day time. Just to see the gorgeousness of it all, and take many pretty pictures.

P.S: We went there at 12.30pm on a weekend and were their first customers! Plenty photo taking opportunities.

P.P.S: It will be just slightly hot during the afternoon, but you can change your seating to a shaded area or just ask them to lower the air condition temperature :D

CNY Outfits

Happy Chinese New Year and Gong Xi Fa Cai! :D

Finally my first outfit post of 2016. Will share 2 of my outfits that I have worn on the eve and on the first day of Chinese New Year back at my dad's hometown :)

Outfit #1: CNY Eve Reunion Dinner

Maroon Knit Top from Honeymoon (DP)  l  Suspender skirt from Taiwan  l  Necklace from a jewelry store in DP (sorry I forgotten the name!)  l   Earrings from Vintage Style (DP)  l  Heels from Vincci

\

Knit apparels in Malaysia really do not work unless you're going to be in an air conditioned environment. Thankfully the weather this CNY is slightly on the chilly side because of the constant rain, and also we had our dinner at a restaurant so I threw on this top along with my suspender skirt.

I also threw on a necklace and a pair of earrings to jazz up the outfit, without them, this outfit would look pretty plain. If you can't be a bit fancier during CNY, when can you be right? Heh.

#Outfit 2: CNY Chor Yat

Gold top from Kenanga Wholesale City  l  Red Skirt from Novela (DP)  l  Necklace from  Luccacal  l  Gold heels from a shoe shop at Aeon (unfortunately, it has already closed down)

It has always been a tradition for my paternal side of the family to have a family photo shoot in the morning of every 1st day of CNY. So we will all get dressed up for this particular occasion.

Was a bit skeptical about this red skirt at first because it looked too fancy and a bit too puffy for my liking, but my mum persuaded me to get it and I'm glad I did! Turns out it is now one of my most versatile pieces in my wardrobe. Tried it out with many different tops and it all worked out really well :D

This gold one is one of the many tops that worked! Yay for mums with awesome fashion sense! haha.

That's all for now, hope everyone is not too burnt out from all the festivities! Continue to enjoy the cookies, gatherings and angpows!

Palsaik Korean BBQ @ Melaka

Was searching for a new Korean restaurant to go to for my mum's birthday and chanced upon Palsaik Korean BBQ! Their 8 flavoured meat concept attracted us, so we went there to try it out :D

This is the interior. Quite classy and elegant for a Korean BBQ restaurant.

Before our food came, they served us 1 plate of cucumbers and salad each as appetizers.

And then these are the meat! We ordered their 8 colour set (RM128), which is 8 different flavoured Samgyeopsal (pork belly).

These are the flavours of all 8 of them. My personal favourites were the wine and hot pepper (which was not hot at all) ones!

They also serve loads of greens for us to wrap the samgyeopsal in. All these are refillable, just like any other Korean restaurant.

The staff will help you to grill the meat nicely, so no worries about over/under cooking it. They did the first 4 flavours first, and when we finished them, only they started to cook the other 4 flavoured ones. The vegetable at the sides is their kimchi! It tastes really good and it's also refillable.

This set also comes with one pot seafood soup. It was nice, not too spicy, but there wasn't a lot of actual seafood inside.

Personally will recommend this set for maximum 4 pax only, because even though there are 8 types of meat but the meat is not a lot. 5 of us had this set and it wasn't that filling enough, so we ordered 2 servings of their cheese bakes rice.

Basically, after you left 1/4 of your seafood soup, they will use the remaining soup for you to cook the rice. They just fried the rice in the soup and add cheese and seaweed on top. One serving is only one bowl of rice, so we had 2.

This was very expensive for what its worth honestly. RM18 for one serving! Which all they did was add rice and cheese into the soup. But it is SO GOOD though! Told my mum we should try this at home. Just make kimchi fried rice and add cheese on top. Yums~

Overall rating for this restaurant will be 8/10! Love their concept and the meat they served was good. Also the staff there were really attentive. Just not a fan of the price of their cheese fried rice and also the space in the restaurant. It's a bit too packed for my liking. My advice is to go earlier, maybe around 6.30pm to avoid the crowd and queue.

Happy Chinese New Year in advance everyone!
Eat more and drink more (packet drinks I mean) :D
