School Uniform

It seems like I haven't blog in ages and I'm sorry about that. STPM (my finals) is about a week away and I've been busy preparing for it.

I'm going to be graduating high school soon! Form Six /  Pre-U life is gonna end. And this means that my wearing school uniform days are going to be over too. So today's post will be dedicated for the past 12 years that I have to spend wearing a school uniform to school. (also shoutout to Phem Enecio for requesting this post! Sorry to have kept you waiting!)

This is my normal form six school uniform. Just a white shirt, black skirt, white socks and black shoes. For the benefit of those non-Malaysians, every school we have here has different coloured uniforms.

My school's theme colours are purple and green. My friends all jokingly ask me if I chose to enter this school because I like the colour purple. Lol. maybe I did

And if you are in my class, you'll probably see me doing these two things often, sleeping and day dreaming. whoops. hehe

Now the uniform below is newly introduced for my batch in my school. It's our corporate wear, kind of like a formal wear. As you can see, it has my school's 2 main colours again. Although I kinda wished they made purple as the primary colour for this shirt.

Last but not least, every student have to join a uniform body and I joined Rangers (a.k.a girl guides).

*Unfortunately I couldn't find my rangers outfit while shooting for this post, so I guess a selfie from my form five ranger's life would do, the uniform is the same, the top and a black skirt*

If you asked me years or even months ago whether I would miss wearing school uniforms, my answer would be 'NO FREAKING WAY!' because I really wished we had freedom of choosing what to wear to school.

Now, when I know this is going to be over...Honestly? I think I will miss it. I will miss not having to think about what to wear to school, I will miss wearing the same old thing every day, I will miss this.

But if there is one thing I could change about the rules in Malaysian schools is that since the students are already limited to their choice of outfit, they should be a bit more lenient on other things. Like allowing girls to use whatever coloured rubber band, hair band and pins on their hair. Allowing students to wear whatever wristbands, studs, small necklaces they want. Allowing guys to wax their hair, and the list goes on. Granted not all schools are super strict on these rules, but these are just some general examples.

I mean come on, think about it, I am not going to blind anyone with my yellow neon coloured headband, that dude is not going to kill someone with his spiky hair, the world won't end because some girls in school decide to wear wristbands to school. So I really don't see what is wrong with all that =/

Anyway, that's about it for my school uniforms. And I am not going to state where I bought my uniforms because that is just...silly. haha. Unless you want them for a Halloween party, dressing up as a dying student because of too much studying, then feel free to ask me I guess? haha. Or invite me! I can totally go as myself then. Lol

Blog alterations

Hello everyone! I made some blog alterations and I just wanted to do a quick update about it.

( 1 ) I used to use the Imotiv comment form on my blog, but sometimes, it doesn't load and the original Blogger comment form appears. When you guys comment via the Blogger comment form, I can only see them through my email, which is frustrating because I can't reply to your comments. So I have decided to switch back to the Blogger comment form.

For those of you that use the Imotiv app to read my blog, you can still comment using that app and I will reply you through that app as well :) However, your comments won't be shown on my blog, only on the app.

(These are some of the comments from the Blogger comment form that's in my email. There were more, but these are the few recent ones. I have already responded to all of the comments that I couldn't earlier! So sorry for the late replies!)

( 2 ) I included a 'search' box on the top of my profile! This will be easier for you if you are searching for anything specific on my blog.

( 3 ) This has been around for awhile now, I just didn't get around to mention it. At the bottom right corner of my blog, there is a Nuffnang poll. Click it and it will enlarge. Please do take some time to fill in the poll so that I can get to know you guys more and your opinions about my blog! :)

That's all for now! I might update less for the next month because my finals are drawing nearer. Someone requested me to blog about my school uniform, and since I will be graduating soon I will most probably do it :) Stay tuned.

"It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light." -Aristotle

This past week has been like a roller coaster ride. Thankfully, everything is over now. Hard times reveal true friends and people who truly care. I can't express how grateful I am for having so many people who care for not only me, but my family as well.

Whether you shared the news, sent us a text, called, visited, prayed, comforted, or anything that you might have done for us during that time, just know that you have been a true blessing, and I hope you understand how much that has helped me (us) get through it all.

I thank God, for being ever faithful and for helping me keeping the faith I have in Him. Faith is not about trusting God to stop the storm, but trusting God to give us strength to walk through the storm. Always remember that if God brings us to it, He'll bring us through it.

This is dedicated to anyone who has been fighting for so long. For those who are tired of things eventually getting better, and yet another thing shows up, and another, and another. For those who are wondering when will everything be at peace.

It doesn't matter what your belief is, but I hope you know that everything happens for a reason, even though you might not understand it at the moment.

"God wouldn't allow test and trials to happen if He knew you couldn't handle them. Obviously, He has a greater goal, a greater purpose, a greater role, a greater position and assignment for all the struggles you've been through. You should've been dead. Could've been dead. Would've been dead, but you're still here. Because God has a greater purpose for your pain. Things are going to start turning around for your good. Everything will make sense soon."

Once again, thank you so much everyone. And for those who are hurting, trying, fighting, feeling like giving up, hang in there. Everything will be okay eventually.

May God bless all of you. xx

Gold on Black

Two weeks ago was my cousin's wedding dinner night, which was at Slim River, Perak.

We arrived quite early, so we went around trying to look for some civilization in that small town...but to no avail. The nearest Starbucks was 12 kilometers away and we couldn't find any coffee shop in sight. I was quite bummed about it, because after sitting in the car for so many hours, I just really needed to get out and stretch my legs.

And then we spotted KFC! *throws confetti* But then as we were turning there, we stumbled upon the current 'Malaysia's Biggest Stone Art Collage'. All thoughts of sitting in an air conditioned environment has gone by then. haha. It was also entered in the Malaysia's Book of Records okay!

So by the time we finished taking photos there, we skipped the trip to KFC and head towards to the wedding dinner. Haha.

Black dress from Vintage Style (Dataran Pahlawan)  l  Gold necklace from Vincci  l  Black faux fur bag from Mico Fashion Square  l  Gold belt (my mum's)  l  Heels from Barry (Aeon)

Honestly, I've been wanting a dress or a skirt like this for a long time. I really love the peep through sheer chiffon material at the bottom of the dress. The crotchet lace details at the bottom also makes the whole dress look very elegant!

Strictly according to Chinese tradition, it's better to wear bright colours like red, yellow or gold to a wedding. But since I couldn't find any dress of that colour, I wore my black dress but accessorize with gold accessories to brighten up the look. So if you ever need to go to a wedding but don't have a bright coloured outfit, just wear bright coloured accessories, and then you won't have to worry about anyone giving you the 'why-are-you-wearing-dark-colours-to-a-wedding' look.

Also, the belt that I am wearing is what my mum wore on her wedding day 30 YEARS AGO. AND IT STILL LOOKS BRAND NEW. Unbelievable.

Anyways, I hope you all had a great start to October! I started mine with exams, but it's gonna be over soon! Yay!

Till then :)
